Varun Dhawan once manifested having a baby girl; told Karan Johar, “I wanna have my own little one”

Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal are on cloud nine. The duo welcomed a baby girl last night, June 3. The happy news was confirmed by the actor’s father David Dhawan who was clicked outside the hospital after his grandchild’s birth. While congratulations are pouring in for the new parents and their families, did you know, VD had once manifested wanting a baby girl of his own?

While on Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan season 5, Varun Dhawan revealed he wants a baby girl. During the rapid-fire segment, Karan Johar gave Varun a few actor names and asked him, “What do the following have that you don’t?” When the filmmaker mentioned Shahid Kapoor, the ‘Bawaal’ actor said, “He has a baby girl. I don’t want his baby girl. I want my own.” He added, “Shahid, your child is yours. I don’t want your child.”

The actor – who was unmarried at that time, further added, “I do wanna get married. I wanna have babies, actually. I want to have a child. I love children, and I wanna have my own little one.”

Varun announces daughter’s birth with a sweet note

Earlier today, Varun Dhawan took to his Instagram and shared a heartfelt video announcing the arrival of his and Natasha Dalal’s baby girl. The actor captioned the video – featuring an illustration of his pet dog Joey with a placard reading ‘Welcome Lil sis,’ “Our baby girl is here Thank u for all the good wishes for the mama and the baby.” The video included a note addressed to the paps reading, “We are overjoyed with this new blessing in our lives. During this special time, we request the media to give us our privacy. Thank you for your support and understanding.”
